Women's Group - How to Have a “Crucial Conversation”, Part 1 - August

What is your style when faced with a challenging conversation? Are you a “fight” or “flight” person? Whether our challenging conversations are with close family members, friends, or colleagues, we can learn how to make it safe for us to keep the communication flowing.  Part of our belief at Discover Identity is that those who are not secure in themselves are more likely to have difficulty communicating in these crucial conversations. How do we maintain ourselves and who we are in the face of an onslaught from someone we care about?

Over the next two months we will be exploring the skills suggested in the book, “Crucial Conversations” which has a clear path to being to handle those difficult conversations. In this month we will be

• Exploring our style when under pressure.
• Starting with heart
• Establishing a safe place to talk and noticing when safety is at risk.

When you register, we will send you a questionnaire that will help you determine your communication style. I was very surprised by my results, and this has given me a great deal to work on.
